Phulkari work

Phulkari, as the name itself suggests, is a form of hand embroidery where phul (flowers) are intricately embroidered (kari) on fabric.
This beautiful craft originates from the land of Punjab. Traditionally, Phulkari was lovingly handcrafted by women of the household and gifted to daughters or daughters-in-law at the time of their weddings, symbolizing prosperity, blessings, and heritage.
Over time, the craft took a commercial turn and became limited to a particular community. Today, only a handful of artisans continue to practice Phulkari using the authentic traditional techniques passed down through generations.
At Tumhari Saakhi, we honor this rich legacy by recreating Phulkari embroidery motifs on handcrafted serving trays, blending traditional artistry with contemporary utility.
