Hogla grass grows abundantly in the Sundarbans region of West Bengal, India. Once harvested from the marshy lands, the grass is sun-dried and carefully stored, allowing it to be used throughout the year for our basketry creations.
Our skilled women artisans transform Hogla grass into beautifully handcrafted baskets, mats, bags, and boxes. Many of these artisans are survivors of tiger attacks, and through this craft, they find sustainable livelihoods, dignity, and renewed strength.
